A Bronx lawmaker wants the city to name the Willis Avenue Bridge after New York's first African American mayor.

The Daily News reports City Councilman Fernando Cabrera will introduce a bill later today calling for the bridge to be named after David Dinkins.

Dinkins served in City Hall from 1990 to 1993 after beating Ed Koch, who was honored last year by having the Queensboro Bridge named for him.
